043. Bloom
We've got some funky ones today, folks...
Nino's not sure he's ever been so grateful for cold weather. Usually he doesn't care one way or the other, content to use It's too hot! or It's too cold! equal amounts to defend his habit of staying at home by himself most of the time. Today he has plans to go out, however, and it happens to work in his favor that it's essentially freezing outside.
Layering shirts, a sweatshirt and a puffy coat that goes to his knees, Nino pulls on a knit cap and wraps a cowl around his neck to protect his ears and nose. He puts on the only pair of weather-sound boots he's got and laces them firmly, his fingers already starting to get stiff from the cold radiating off of his front door. Once outside he gets his hands into some gloves before immediately wriggling them into his pockets.
He spends the majority of his trip regretting the fact he'd forgotten headphones, too eager on his way out the door to make sure he'd transferred everything but the essentials from his usual jacket to the one he chose to wear. Even without music or the distraction of a game, however, the trains don't take too long. When he reaches the park at first he thinks he's early and he really hopes that it's not true because while he's glad to have an excuse to bundle up to the point of anonymity, he doesn't really want to stand and wait in the cold.
Pulling out his phone, Nino has to remove a glove to get the touchscreen to work. He scrolls through his messages as he strolls through paved walkways between sakura trees, their pale pink flowers having managed to bloom during the short period of warmth that preceded the current cold front. When he looks up to make sure he's not about to walk into anyone he spots the person he's looking for sprawled on a bench at their agreed upon spot.
Ohno's got sunglasses and a knit cap on and is similarly bundled up the way Nino is. He probably wouldn't have recognized the man if it weren't for the fact that he's gotten used to looking for his face. Walking up he gives Ohno's foot a nudge with his own and laughs when Ohno gives a start. Slipping his glove back on, Nino reaches out and pulls Ohno up.
Another breeze funnels through the trees and Nino half hides from it behind Ohno's shoulder. When it ends he doesn't bother to pull away, and when Ohno pulls his left hand out of his pocket to hold it as they start to walk, Nino's once again grateful for the cold.
044. Fridge
These are both written in present-tense. I don't know why.
Hurrying to the door, Sho opens it with a wide smile. He bows and moves aside, welcoming Jun into his apartment and closing the door behind him.
Sho realizes as he starts to offer refreshments that he's nervous. He's not sure why he's nervous... Well—that's a lie. He knows why. The fact that Jun keeps smiling at him that way isn't helping matters at all.
Sho's by the fridge, calling out the options he has for drinks. Somewhere between beer, juice, and tea, however, a shadow moves at the corner of his vision. Sho turns, only to find himself pressed against the counter. Jun is close, warm against Sho's body even through their clothing. And he's still smiling.
Sho doesn't have to pause to think before he rushes forward and closes the scant space between their lips with a fierce, biting kiss.
