041. Shake
Why yes, this is the same universe as Lost & Found
"Nino!" Sho sighed, rubbing his face in frustration. "Sit!" he commanded without a thought as he pointed firmly at the couch. He was actually a little surprised when Nino walked over to the couch and sat on it as directed, but he did his best not to show it.
Sitting on the coffee table so that he could face Nino, Sho leaned forward. He was doing his best to try and calm down, but it was difficult considering what he'd woken up to.
"I told you that it's fine if you're a different form around the house, but you can't just turn into a dog so you can sneak into my bed," Sho tried to explain.
He couldn't believe he had to explain this, but apparently he did. Nino continued to sit on the couch, arms crossed over his chest as he just looked at Sho. He wasn't really pouting, but he seemed fairly annoyed. Sho wasn't sure what he was annoyed about, but he was going to let that go for the moment.
"If you're going to crawl into bed with me, do it like you are now!" Sho sighed. He was proud that he didn't grin at Nino's expression of shock and barely veiled delight.
"Shake?" Sho held out a hand for Nino's patiently. Nino went back to glaring at him.
"Do you want me to be a fucking dog or not?" Nino growled and Sho rolled his eyes.
"Shake my god damn hand so we can go to bed. One of us has to actually go to work in the morning," Sho ordered, giving Nino a look.
Nino clenched his hands tightly on instinct, biting at his lips. He was obviously weighing the odds between giving in to the gesture and getting what he wanted, or maintaining his pride. Sho was glad that at least tonight, Nino's pride didn't seem to be his main priority. Pulling the smaller man up by his offered hand, Sho draped his arm about Nino's shoulders before leading them back to the bedroom.
042. Cook
Mr. Ohno nodded his head in thanks, taking a bite out of the juiciest plum he'd ever had in his life and moaning. He tried to wipe up the mess that it was trailing down his chin, but he was honestly too tired and too hungry to be very concerned with etiquette. Besides, he sincerely doubted his half-naked hosts would care about a bit of plum juice.
Beside him Professor Sakurai let out a whimper before diving in to the host of fruits and nuts presented him. Days on the beach foraging for scraps and all the while there were people in the jungle. People willing to feed them delicious things! Even Jun was giving in to his hunger, drinking coconut milk and feasting on a mango with gusto.
At least until he noticed the spit being fixed over the fire.
"...Professor," Jun called to his companion, using a hushed tone despite the fact that he was almost certain the natives couldn't understand a word of what he was saying. Professor Sakurai and Mr. Ohno both looked up, their cheeks full to the point of being round with food.
"What is that for?" Jun asked, nodding to the structure being erected. As they all turned to look a pair of men sat and bent over stones with large blades with wicked curves, beginning to grind them to the sharpest edge possible.
Professor Sakurai swallowed his mouthful with some effort, frowning in some confusion. Looking up as a young, bare-breasted girl knelt beside him to offer him a broken coconut, the professor gave a flustered hum as he hesitantly let her feed him. Though afterwards he did sputter a bit before finally trying his best to ask what they men were building. She frowned at him in confusion and Jun had to wonder whether or not the good professor was really any good at this linguistics thing.
After a moment, she uttered a few things back and Sakurai attempted to clarify. Her eyes widened and she nodded, answering in a single word with a big grin.
"C...cooking fire?" Professor Sakurai attempted to translate, turning back to Jun. It seemed a fair translation, but it did beg a certain question that made Jun suddenly incredibly uneasy.
"...I thought you said they were vegetarians?" Jun pointed out, though as he looked around and saw how many if not all of the tribesmen were lean but firmly muscled. Each possessed a physique that would be hard to come by on a diet of plants and legumes.
"I... She said they don't eat meat of—" the professor interrupted himself, paling several shades. Jun's eyes narrowed.
"Often?" Jun supplied, only barely containing himself as the all-consuming fear he'd managed to let go of for a few moments instantly disappeared.
Professor Sakurai gave a weak nod, startled as another young woman began hanging wreaths of pungent flowers around their necks.

Date: 2013-07-31 05:47 pm (UTC)Cannibals! That has me rolling, probably because I can imagine linguist Sho trying to talk his way out of the situation and Ohno continuing to stuff his face because, hey free food! Poor Jun's life is so hard even in AUs.
