039. Pitch
Sho grunted and gasped no longer attempting to spin his reel so much as he was trying not to lose his rod. The fishing line grew so tight that the wood and plastic bent to the point Sho was afraid it was going to snap in half.
"HELP!" he screeched, though even as he did so arms circled him and immediately went to work.
Ohno and Sho both groaned and gasped, Ohno working to reel in the line and anchor them as Sho did his best to keep the rod steady. Sho's hands were cold and sore and his arms were about to fall right off his body and into the ocean when finally the balance tipped. With a great heave the pair of them managed to bring the line in enough to haul their catch up. Though as they did Sho's jaw dropped in disbelief.
"YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" he yelled, though as his hands went into his sweaty hair he did manage to laugh.
Ohno sat on the deck of the boat breathing heavily, glaring at the fearsome tire they'd managed to catch.
"Nice catch," Ohno panted, giving Sho an exhausted thumbs up.
Sho whined wordlessly before reaching out to help Ohno up, the pair of them sincerely debating whether or not they should pitch the frustrating thing overboard. In the end, they decided not to put any other fishermen (or fish) through their struggles and it stayed on board as a place to put their coolers when they didn't want the boxes moving anywhere.

"That's stupid! Stupid! How's a person supposed to know if you don't say anything?"
"That's why I'm saying it now!"
"Then go on and say it already!"
"Fine! I... I... Wait, I'm lost," Jun frowned down at his script, tumbling out of character so quickly his companion burst into giggles.
"Page 35," Toma advised, dropping his own copy of the script on the coffee table and picking up his glass of wine.
Jun continued to frown at his pages, flipping back and forth to try and find the last place he remembered being with the dialogue.
"Is it really that far?" Jun puzzled, sinking down onto his couch beside Toma.
"You'd probably remember if you didn't drink so much," Toma teased even as he refilled both his glass and Jun's.
"Is that so," Jun scoffed and quirked an eyebrow at his friend. He grinned as he rolled up his script and gave Toma a light smack over the head with it.
Toma ducked but still received his tap, snorting into his glass of wine. Once he was sure the assault was over he took a deeper drink and relaxed back onto the couch.
"Even if you lost the page you should have finished the line," Toma hummed stretching his one free hand up and over his head, his legs extending under the table as he melted bonelessly into the couch.
"Hm?" Jun hummed through his own sip of wine, turning to Toma with a grin. Barely managing to restrain his laughter he leaned forward, invading his friend's space easily. "I love you~"
Toma burst into giggles right in his face, flushed cheeks going even pinker. Jun snorted laughter with him, shaking his head as he relaxed a little.
"Shut up, you're supposed to be here to help me," Jun pretended to chastise. He couldn't even feign being upset if he wanted to.
"Okay, okay!" Toma chimed, leaning up and giving Jun a peck on the lips before pushing his way forward to grasp for his copy of the script. Abandoning his glass of wine on the table again, Toma started flipping through the pages. Shifting, he turned to face Jun again as he cleared his throat to prepare for delivering lines.
"Mou~ Stupid! You're so stupid! Meanie!" Toma recited, embellishing a bit as he pitched his voice into an awful imitation of a girl. Jun started to laugh so hard he nearly spit wine all over his white couch
"Will you do it right?!" Jun gasped, giving Toma's knee a shove.
"Sorry, sorry," Toma snickered, obviously not sorry at all.

Date: 2013-07-27 02:45 am (UTC)Toma and Jun and another friendship I absolutely love! I am so glad that even though they grew up in the public eye and in a really intense entertainment industry they have actually managed to form real friendships. I love the image of them running lines and getting drunk together then cuddling up together.

Date: 2013-07-27 06:32 am (UTC)Okay, so Toma/Jun is another one of my favorite pairings... that I've never written. Last year I wrote my first Ohno/Machida drabble and now this year Toma/Jun! I'd be proud of myself, but... Mrrp. This drabble actually came from a conversation a friend and I were having wherein she pointed out that Jun and Toma have a lot of very similar facial expressions at times and when I was watching Lucky Seven I absolutely saw an uncanny amount of Toma-isms in Jun's acting. So~~~ :D In my mind, this is how that happens. Plus kissing. Because why not?
